The Greater Cleveland Partnership’s current priority in primary and secondary education is to help our high schools adequately prepare our young people for careers of the future. Currently, we're working with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) to achieve success in this area. MC2STEM High School
The GCP coordinated fund raising that brought in almost $4 million to support construction of the CMSD’s new STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) High School facility on General Electric’s Nela Park campus in East Cleveland. The GCP also coordinated fund-raising to renovate classrooms for freshmen students at the Great Lakes Science Center. This includes leadership grants from The Cleveland Foundation, The George Gund Foundation and The Sherwick Fund, along with major gifts from Forest City Enterprises, Eaton Corp., KeyCorp and Parker Hannifin Corp.

Entrepreneurship Preparatory School
The GCP and its small business partner, COSE, support efforts to prepare students for successful careers in the business world at the Entrepreneurship Preparatory School (E Prep), a school of choice sponsored by the CMSD. It’s an urban middle school where 100 percent of the graduates will attend a college prep high school, and, upon graduation, will be accepted to a four-year college.

Max Hayes High School
The GCP is working with the CMSD, WIRE-Net, foundations, industry and others to shape plans for the new Max Hayes High School that will be built at West 65th Street and Clark Avenue within the next few years. The goal is to build a facility that can provide world-class career and technical education to Cleveland’s young people.
City Year Cleveland’s Business/School Partnership Program
City Year Cleveland’s Business/School Partnership Program establishes valuable partnerships between area businesses and the CMSD that result in stronger schools and academically successful students who are prepared for success before, during and after high school. Business resources – human, financial and in-kind – are targeted toward activities that improve student performance throughout K-12 education, increase literacy and graduation rates, and advance the skill sets necessary for lifelong success and citizenship.
